veteran, high-IQ San Jose State linebacker with proven production
Alii Matau brings real game-tested value: in the 2022 season for San Jose State, he started 7 of 12 games and posted 51 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks, showing he can affect plays both sideline-to-sideline and in the backfield[2]. He’s a seasoned, locally grown defender from Milpitas who has been praised for range and tackling volume, and his 2021 tape included an eight-tackle, two-TFL effort against San Diego State[11]. If you want a linebacker who plays with discipline, experience, and a nose for disruption, Matau is the kind of dependable glue guy coaches love[2][11].
