Connor Mattison brings swing-and-miss stuff, but the results have been uneven
In the 2026 season, Kentucky RHP Connor Mattison flashed the kind of bite teams love in a power arm: he moved from long relief into weekend starts and logged 37 strikeouts in 36.2 innings, but also finished with an 8.10 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. His calling card is bat-missing ability, backed by a no-hitter and national freshman honors earlier in his career, plus the toughness to absorb an injury- and rotation-shift-heavy season. If you want upside, he’s intriguing; if you want polish, he’s still more boom than bankable.
