Efficient, Big-Play Illinois State QB With Proven Newcomer Impact
Winkler showed immediate value at Illinois State, earning Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer honors after ranking fourth in the league with a 132.8 pass efficiency rating and connecting on 10 passes of 30-plus yards in 2013.[1] His profile points to a quarterback who can create chunk plays and operate efficiently rather than just pile up volume, and his 2014 roster page shows he was used in limited action but still produced explosive scoring output, suggesting he fit well in a system that values vertical passing and decisive execution.[4] If you want a QB with proven field-stretching ability and early production, he stands out.[1][4]
