Woody Blevins Brings Proven Defensive Structure to Drake’s Secondary
Woody Blevins is listed as a defensive back for Drake, but the strongest current public information points to his value as a coach/defensive mind: he arrived at Davidson in January 2026 after helping produce one of the FCS level’s top defenses, with his units ranking among the nation’s best in total and scoring defense in 2025. That profile suggests a detail-oriented, discipline-first football presence who fits teams that want structure, communication, and a high standard on the back end. For a roster or staff looking for toughness and defensive IQ, he stands out more for impact and reliability than flash.
