Frank Gaines brings compact, disruptive edge presence to North Texas
Frank Gaines is listed by North Texas as a 6-foot-1, 229-pound sophomore defensive end in the 2026 season, giving the Mean Green a younger edge defender with room to add power and polish[1]. His appeal is the classic under-the-radar DE profile: leverage, burst, and a chance to grow into a more complete pass-rush piece rather than just a box-score rusher[1][2]. For a team looking for energetic rotational help with developmental upside, he looks like a fit worth monitoring, especially if he keeps climbing the depth chart.
