Troy’s ball-hawking cornerback who turned turnovers into national attention
In the 2007 season at Troy, Elbert Mack emerged as a true difference-maker at cornerback, leading the nation with 8 interceptions and earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors. He paired playmaking with reliable tackling and pass breakups, showing the instincts and competitiveness teams love in an outside corner. The extra context matters too: Troy’s staff noted he returned as a starter and even delivered his best bowl-game performance while handling personal adversity, a strong sign of toughness, focus, and a high-intensity mindset.
