SDSU's Tough 6-3 Freshman Center with Proven Rebounding Grit
Cala Westergard, a 6-3 freshman center for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, brings battle-tested toughness after earning third-team all-state honors in Iowa high school ball, where she averaged 9.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a junior despite missing time due to injury—highlighting her resilience and rebounding prowess. Her physicality and club-level experience make her a differentiator in the paint for a gritty, defensive-minded team; she's an ideal fit for programs needing a high-motor big who rebounds above her stats and plays through adversity.
