NC State LHP Tristan Potts offers high-upside lefty arm, but 2026 results have been uneven
Tristan Potts is a former top North Carolina left-handed pitching prospect whose appeal still starts with his arm talent and projectable size, but his 2026 NC State production has been spotty, with an 11.25 ERA in limited innings. He’s the kind of pitcher a staff might target for developmental upside rather than immediate plug-and-play reliability, especially given his track record as a ranked prep arm and reported 86 mph max velocity coming out of high school. The fit is best for a team willing to bet on raw ability, patience, and long-term growth.
