Deacon is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed pitcher with starter traits: he has been listed with a top fastball around 90 mph, an 80 mph changeup, and a 78 mph breaking ball, and he has shown meaningful development through coaching and conditioning over time.[2] As a high school senior, he also posted a 6-1 record with a 2.35 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 47.2 innings, which points to strike-throwing ability and competitive toughness.[5] He looks like a good fit for a program that wants a durable, athletic arm with room to keep climbing.
