Matt Morton brings veteran linebacker grit to Iowa State
Matt Morton is a hard-nosed, experienced Iowa State linebacker whose calling card has long been reliability and special-teams toughness; in his Cyclones career, he totaled 56 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 47 games played, with a standout 2012 season that included 15 tackles and a Liberty Bowl start[1][5][6]. He’s the kind of player coaches trust because he already showed he can handle multiple roles, play through depth-chart churn, and make an impact without needing the ball-splashing stats that grab headlines[2][13].
