In the 2025-26 season, Barton sophomore guard Layne Sleight emerged as a primary scoring option, leading the team in points per game (13.7), made three-pointers (67), and free-throw percentage (.760) while earning All-Conference Carolinas third-team honors.[4] She also produced several big performances, including 19 points against Ferrum and 14 points in a win over Mount Olive, showing she can light it up when the Bulldogs need a spark.[9][11] The fit question is easy: if a team wants a confident perimeter scorer who can stretch defenses and take pressure late, Sleight fits the mold—though her efficiency and playmaking consistency still look like growth areas.[2][14]
