Janis Sutton is giving Howard a spark in the infield and at the plate
In the 2026 season, Howard freshman infielder Janis Sutton has emerged as a useful contact hitter and run-producer, hitting .269 with an .857 OPS in one Howard stat line and earning honorable mention recognition in April for her play; she also delivered a two-hit, three-RBI game in Howard’s 8-3 win over South Carolina State. Her profile stands out for steady on-base skills, clutch situational hitting, and enough speed to contribute on the bases, making her the kind of young, versatile infielder who can fit a team that values energy, defense, and plate discipline.
