Andrelys Payamps is Iona’s ace-level workhorse with strikeout juice
In the 2025 season, Andrelys Payamps earned All-MAAC Second Team honors by going 4-5 with a 4.52 ERA, 72 strikeouts in 65.2 innings, and a 9.87 K/9 that ranked third in the MAAC; he also opened the 2026 season with four no-hit innings against Radford. The big draw is the combo of veteran poise and bat-missing ability: he’s been a reliable rotation anchor, can string together high-strikeout outings, and has shown he can reset after rough stretches. If your team wants a proven righty who competes deep into games, he’s absolutely worth caring about.
