Rachel Tecca was an Akron legend: elite two-way forward, program-record scorer and rebounder
Rachel Tecca is one of the defining players in Akron women’s basketball history, a 6-foot-1 forward who paired scoring punch with relentless rebounding and defensive impact. In her Akron career from 2009-14, she piled up 2,317 points and 1,109 rebounds while also adding 189 assists, 183 steals and 75 blocks, and she helped power the Zips to their only NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014. She was a three-time All-MAC First Team pick, the 2012-13 MAC Player of the Year, and the 2013-14 MAC Tournament MVP—exactly the kind of high-motor, high-ceiling forward a team would want.
