Massive frame, veteran presence, and still a depth-chart question mark
Junior Carswell is a 6-5, 290-pound defensive lineman for Southern Miss whose value starts with size and line-of-scrimmage length, but the public record shows limited recent game production and no current stat line to lean on. Southern Miss lists him as a redshirt freshman in its roster history, while third-party stat tracking credits him with 2 career tackles across two tracked seasons, so the “why care” angle is mostly projection: he’s the kind of big-bodied DL who can eat space if his motor and leverage show up. In short, intriguing tools, but more upside than proven impact.
