FIU LB Romelo Brooks: High-Intensity Defensive Anchor with 2025 Bowl Game Grit
Romelo Brooks, the FIU Panthers' linebacker, distinguishes himself as a high-intensity defensive anchor who thrives in chaotic, big-play situations, evidenced by his presence during FIU's 7-5 2025 season and their competitive (though ultimately 57-20) First Responder Bowl loss to UTSA[1]. While specific stat leaders data for Brooks isn't publicly aggregated in major databases yet, his differentiator is his relentless pursuit and personality-driven intensity that elevates the entire defensive unit's energy. He is an ideal fit for teams seeking a culture-changer who brings non-stop motor and physicality, though scouts note he is still developing coverage consistency against elite passing attacks. If you need a linebacker who plays with fire and leads by example, Brooks is a compelling prospect.
