Rider freshman Dylan Kane has flashed command and poise early on the mound
In the 2026 season, Rider freshman right-hander Dylan Kane has already shown he can throw strikes and compete in meaningful innings, including a 5.0-inning start against LIU where he allowed two runs with one strikeout and was praised for mixing three pitches and keeping hitters off balance.[1][4] His current statistical line shows a 6.60 ERA over 30.0 innings with 18 strikeouts and 18 walks, so the stuff is intriguing but the command still needs tightening.[6] The upside here is a starter’s profile with early trust from the staff and the kind of mound presence that can fit a development-minded team willing to bet on polish and upside.[1][12]
