Clemson’s old-school walk-on QB who won with grit, not volume
Patrick McClure’s Clemson story is built on resilience and trust: he arrived as a walk-on, spent 2018-2020 in the program, and contributed as a scout-team grinder while earning championship-ring credibility, including Clemson’s 2018 national title and three ACC titles. He’s not a headline stat guy, but he does bring the kind of maturity, toughness, and team-first intensity coaches love—plus the perspective of a former QB who understands preparation. In short: he fits best as a culture piece and developmental leader, not as a current-impact on-field passer.
