Stony Brook’s Iron-Clad OL Anchor with Franchise-Ready Grit
Jason Herrick, a 6-1, 270-pound freshman OT from East Moriches, N.Y., stands out not just for his size but for his relentless intensity and rare maturity—traits that make him a top fit for any team seeking a high-floor, low-risk offensive lineman. Though stats from the 2005 season show he was a raw but promising recruit, his differentiators include zero injury history, a personality that thrives under pressure, and an intensity level coaches describe as ‘dogfight-ready’ (per Stony Brook Seawolves game notes). He’s not a stat leader yet, but his differentiators—grit, consistency, and coachability—make him a future cornerstone. Why care? He’s the athlete who shows up when it matters. Is he a good fit? Absolutely for teams building for the long haul.
