Osvaldo Sombo brings speed and pass-rush juice to App State’s linebacker room
Sombo profiles as a high-energy Appalachian State linebacker whose best calling card is his burst: ESPN’s recruiting measurables list a 4.91-second 40-yard dash and a 4.34-second shuttle, and App State notes he was competing for an outside linebacker job where he could rush the passer and drop into coverage. In game action, ESPN lists 22 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble, which points to a disruptive fit rather than just a stack-the-box tackler. He looks most valuable to a team that wants speed, edge pressure, and effort-driven versatility.
