Chris Whitaker brings veteran linebacker toughness to Iowa State
Whitaker is a compact, physical **linebacker** who made an immediate impact as a true freshman, appearing in 10 games and starting the final three, including a career-high nine tackles against Texas; listed at 5-10, 232, he profiles as an inside-the-box defender who can handle contact and stay involved in run support. His value is less about flash and more about reliability, instinct, and proven readiness in big moments, which makes him a sensible fit for a team needing an active, gritty tone-setter on defense.[1][4]
