Jessie Gilbert gives LMU a sturdy, strike-throwing arm with upside
In the 2026 season, Jessie Gilbert emerged as a valuable rotation piece for Loyola Marymount, going 4-3 with a 2.54 ERA over 60.2 innings, 56 strikeouts, and two complete games, including one shutout[1][2]. She’s a right-handed pitcher who competes with poise and can work deep enough to finish games, which is a big plus for a staff that wants reliability over chaos[1][4]. The eye-catcher: she’s already shown she can win in high-leverage spots, and her background as a high-usage ace in high school suggests a naturally competitive, attack-minded edge[4][6].
