Mercer TE Gavin McKay flashes size and red-zone upside with room to expand
In the 2023 season, Mercer tight end Gavin McKay appeared in the Bears’ offense as a 6-foot-4, 225-pound redshirt sophomore with 4 catches for 18 yards and a 16-yard long reception, showing a developmental pass-catching profile rather than a volume role[1][2]. What makes him intriguing is the combination of frame, transfer pedigree from Missouri, and tight end build that can help in inline blocking and matchup flexibility; the main question is whether he grows into a bigger target share and more consistent production[1][2].
