Maurice Hampton brings versatile, hard-nosed depth to Vanderbilt’s defense
Maurice Hampton’s value is less about gaudy box-score stuff and more about dependable versatility: in the 2024 season at Vanderbilt, he played in 10 games with one start and posted 22 tackles, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble. He has a reputation as a rugged, multi-sport competitor who can fit in as a physical, assignment-sound defender and special-teams piece. The biggest question is ceiling, but if a team wants toughness, maturity, and a player who’s been through a winding path and still keeps grinding, he’s a very live fit.
