James Haughton brings pop, speed, and a rising bat to Rhode Island
James Haughton is a freshman infielder for Rhode Island who already has a track record of production: in 2026 summer-league play, he hit a 3-run homer and showed extra-base pop, while earlier amateur stops included a .451 average and 1.196 OPS for Ballston Spa. He projects as an energetic, left-handed bat with some versatility and enough offensive upside to be worth watching closely. If your team values a grinder who can impact the game with contact, gap power, and competitiveness, Haughton looks like a smart fit with upside.
