Jacoby Simpson is a battle-tested linebacker with SEC-caliber pedigree and ECU toughness
Jacoby Simpson brings old-school, run-stopping linebacker traits: he was a three-star prep recruit, ranked by 247Sports as a top inside linebacker in Texas and among the nation’s better ILB prospects, and later arrived at East Carolina after time at TCU and Cisco CC. In ECU’s materials, he’s listed at 6-foot, 248 pounds, which fits a downhill, physical profile built for inside work. The big sell: experience, toughness, and a proven defensive background — the kind of steady, no-drama piece that can raise a room’s floor if you want a linebacker who plays with contact and knows how to fit the run.
