UTRGV Guard Gabe Cortez Brings Senior Experience and a True Combo-Guard Look
Gabe Cortez is a 6-1 senior guard for UTRGV with current-season stat tracking on the roster, giving the Vaqueros an experienced backcourt piece who can be evaluated in real time. His biggest differentiator is veteran depth at guard: he gives a roster stability, positional flexibility, and a likely higher floor than a younger, more volatile option. Because public results here don’t include detailed box-score production or scouting notes, the clearest takeaway is fit—he looks like the kind of steady, coachable guard who can help organize an offense and complement more explosive scorers.
