veteran Miami (OH) defensive back with a versatile, physical edge
Sam Olberding brings classic blue-collar versatility to Miami (OH): he has been listed as a defensive back while also being described as a backup SAM linebacker, which hints at a player comfortable near the box and on special assignments. The clearest differentiators in the available program history are his size, his high-school ball production, and his reputation as a captain who won the Trojan Award for representing his team on and off the field. For a team wanting toughness, role flexibility, and leadership, he’s the kind of throwback defender who can quietly make a roster better.
