Michael Caraway Jr. brings veteran DB production and ball-hawk flashes to Jackson State
In the 2024 season, Michael Caraway Jr. posted 37 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 fumble recovery at Southern Miss, and he has shown real playmaking upside with 7 career passes defended and 6 career interceptions, plus 136 career interception return yards[1][3]. At 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3 and around 185-196 pounds depending on the listing, he profiles as a long, experienced defensive back who fits as a versatile nickel/safety type with special-teams value and enough instincts to make quarterbacks pay for mistakes[6][9][12]. The big appeal: he’s a steady, older defender with proven ball skills and a track record of moving up levels, which makes him a nice fit for a team that wants savvy coverage and veteran calm in the secondary[1][12].
