experienced righty with bullpen bite and starter upside
Mark Scamardella is a veteran right-hander who brings polish, strikeout ability, and proven durability after working 22.0 innings for Bryant in the 2025 season with a 4.50 ERA, 22 strikeouts, and only nine walks; he also opened that year with 8.1 scoreless innings, a nice little “hello, I’m here” stretch. He’s the kind of arm coaches like because he can give multiple looks, compete in the zone, and handle both relief and spot-start duties. If New Mexico State wants a steady, experienced RHP with some sneaky swing-and-miss, he’s a good fit.
