FIU’s veteran frontcourt glue player with rebound-first grit
In the 2020-21 season, Shante Walker was a depth forward for FIU who appeared in eight games and averaged 1.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists, but her earlier Panthers seasons showed the real value: as a freshman she led FIU freshmen with 5.8 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game while logging 18.1 minutes a night. She was recruited as a versatile, multi-position forward and built her high school reputation as a double-double machine, which suggests toughness, activity and a willingness to do the dirty work rather than chase headlines. If a team wants size, rebounding and steady effort, she fits the bill.
