A technically polished, high-level anchor at center for NIU
Brian Van Acker was the kind of center coaches love: a strong, footwork-driven interior blocker who anchored a productive Northern Illinois run game and drew preseason attention for All-America and award-watch-list recognition in 2005. He was known as a pulling center with outstanding mobility, and he also brought leadership as a Huskie tri-captain, which matters if you want a dependable line caller who can move well in space and set the tone up front.
