Mykel Parham is VCU’s defense-first frontcourt anchor
Parham is a high-motor, paint-protecting forward whose value shows up in the ugly possessions: in the 2024-25 season she earned All-Atlantic 10 Defensive Team honors for the second straight year, averaged 10.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game, and helped VCU rank among the nation’s better defensive teams. She is not a volume scorer, but she brings toughness, rebounding, rim protection, and consistency as a veteran starter, making her a strong fit for a team that needs defensive identity more than offensive flash.
