Matthew Porchas brings power-arm upside, but his Blue Raiders role is still in wait-and-see mode
In the 2025 season at Walters State, right-hander Matthew Porchas posted a 0.64 ERA with 14.44 strikeouts per nine over 14.1 innings, and he was ranked by Perfect Game as a top-290 national prospect and top-100 RHP in the 2022 class[1]. At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, he offers the kind of frame scouts love for downhill, velocity-driven pitching, but recent roster tracking notes he had not yet seen game action at Middle Tennessee and was considering the portal, so the fit looks more like long-term upside than immediate impact[1][2].
