Howard’s steady two-way guard: Skip Mitchell brings shooting touch and veteran calm
Darek “Skip” Mitchell is a reliable Howard guard whose résumé points to efficient perimeter scoring and solid free-throw touch; in the 2006-07 season he averaged 9.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and shot 39.8% from three while hitting 82.8% at the line. He looks like the kind of low-drama, high-skill backcourt piece coaches love: spacing the floor, making the right read, and not forcing the issue. If your team needs a composed shooter who can complement higher-usage scorers, he’s a sensible fit.
