Greig Stire brings veteran size, toughness and a blocking-first edge to Albany’s tight end room
Greig Stire is a former UAlbany basketball standout who transitioned to football and, in the 2018 season, appeared in seven games as a blocking tight end for the Great Danes. His biggest differentiators are rare size, physicality and a team-first, project-player profile that can help in short-yardage and heavy personnel packages. The upside is clear if a staff wants a big-bodied, aggressive TE who can sell the run game and bring toughness; the limitation is that the available record points more to a developmental, role-specific contributor than a polished receiving threat.
