Walter McCarthy brought size, versatility, and veteran trench value to UNH
In the 2011 season, Walter McCarthy was a 6-foot-5, 265-pound junior offensive lineman for New Hampshire who lined up at left tackle and was expected to help replace a departed starter. His best differentiators were length, experience, and a reputation for doing the dirty work in the trenches rather than chasing spotlight stats; earlier notes also credit him with strong two-way line play at Milton Academy, where he anchored an offense that produced 1,500 rushing yards and 31 points per game. If you want a dependable lineman with proven edge and physicality, he fits the mold.
