Michigan CB with ball-hawking instincts and captain-level edge
James Whitley’s Michigan profile is built on toughness, leadership, and playmaking—he was a 2000 team captain and entered that season as the Wolverines’ active career leader in tackles (138) and pass breakups (19), with 66 tackles, 9 PBUs, and 7 tackles for loss in the 1999 season[15]. He’s the kind of corner who plays with contact, anticipation, and real competitive fire, highlighted by a pick-six in Michigan’s 1999 Florida Citrus Bowl win[14]. If your team wants a physical, high-IQ defensive back who sets a tone, Whitley’s a fit[15].
