Avery Duncan’s rise: DBU’s righty is missing bats and handling leverage
In the 2026 season, Avery Duncan has become a useful arm for Dallas Baptist, working 21.0 innings with 19 strikeouts while leaning on a heavy ground-ball profile and limiting home runs. The strikeout-and-contact-miss combo is the selling point, and the fact that he’s already been used in higher-pressure spots says the staff trusts him. He’s not yet a polished “safe bet” profile, but if your team values a young right-hander with swing-and-miss stuff, projection, and some bite on the ball, he’s worth a serious look.
