Once a prized UNC tackle, but injuries ended the ride
In his UNC career, T.J. Leifheit was a highly regarded offensive tackle prospect, ranked as a top-10 national tackle by some recruiting outlets and praised for his rare 6-7 frame and heavyweight length that projected major upside at the line. He enrolled early in 2010, but recurring ankle and back injuries limited his college impact and ultimately ended his playing career, so the big question for a team fit was always health rather than talent. For a roster needing size and pedigree, he fit the mold; for one needing durability, the warning lights were loud.
