Meredith Wayland brings pop, speed, and clutch versatility to Mercer’s outfield
Wayland is a 5-foot-10 fifth-year outfielder for Mercer who has shown real game-changing upside in 2026, including extra-base impact and timely production against quality opponents. Her profile hints at a versatile, aggressive bat and sneaky athleticism—she’s been used in the outfield and has also logged run-scoring, bunt, and baserunning value. The bigger takeaway: she looks like a senior-level competitor who can lengthen a lineup, create pressure on the bases, and deliver in big moments, which makes her a strong fit for a team needing experienced, multi-tool production.
