DJ Peevy brings twitchy edge upside, but USC’s depth chart has been the real obstacle
DJ Peevy is a 6-foot-3, 260-pound redshirt freshman DE who arrived at USC with prep juice after logging 31 tackles, 5 sacks and an interception as a senior at Lincoln (San Diego) and earning PrepStar All-Western Region honors in 2023. USC listed him as a player competing for snaps in 2024, but he had not seen game action as a true freshman in 2023, and reports later placed him in the transfer portal, so the key question is fit and opportunity as much as talent. If you want an edge defender with length, burst and developmental upside, he’s worth a look; if you need instant production, the sample size is still thin.
