Scrappy Jackson State guard with under-the-radar upside
John Wes Taylor is a Jackson State guard whose value appears to come more from effort, toughness, and guard instincts than box-score volume; available records show he was on the JSU roster as a freshman in 2021-22 and later appeared in the NAIA at Tougaloo, where his 2022-23 production was modest at 1.3 points per game in 16 games. That makes him more of a role-player evaluation than a headline scorer, but his appeal is the kind of gritty, tempo-pushing guard profile coaches often like for energy, pressure, and lineup flexibility.
