In the 2026 season, freshman RB Tyrone Smiley is a compact 5'9", 180-pound Northern Colorado back from Aurora’s Vista Peak Prep, where he piled up 1,194 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior and averaged 119.4 yards per game. He enters UNC with a reputation for physicality, versatility, and track-speed pop, plus a local-recruit edge that makes him an easy fit for a program looking for tough, downhill runners who can still catch the ball out of the backfield.
