Matea Nikolic brings size, rim-running upside, and international pedigree to Kansas
Matea Nikolic is a 6-foot-4 forward who gives Kansas a long, physical interior presence and a proven international background, including experience with North Macedonia’s senior and youth national teams.[1] In her freshman season at Kansas in 2021-22, she appeared in nine games and contributed rebounds, steals, assists, and a block in limited minutes, which hints at a versatile, high-motor role player rather than a pure stat-stuffer.[1] Her biggest differentiators are length, mobility, and competitiveness—she played against older competition early, so the floor tends to be a little less shiny and the ceiling a little more interesting.
