Shaquan Burney brings proven playmaking pop to NCCU’s linebacker room
Burney’s profile is built on impact and instincts: as a high school senior in 2011, he piled up 138 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and a defensive touchdown, a stat line that screams ball-hawk linebacker with downhill violence. His differentiators are range, turnover upside, and a reputation for being a difference-maker rather than just a space-filler. For a team that values disruptive, high-motor defenders, he fits the mold of a linebacker who can chase, hit, and create game-changing moments.
