Will Canalichio is flashing midweek upside for Texas State, with swing-and-miss life and starter juice
In the 2026 season, Texas State left-hander Will Canalichio has shown enough strike-throwing ability and bat-missing stuff to earn a midweek-start look, with 9 strikeouts in 9.1 innings over eight appearances and a season-high 3.2-inning start against No. 23 Texas A&M. He’s a 6-foot-4 junior with a starter’s frame and left-handed value, but his current profile is still more “live arm with some refinement” than finished product after he allowed five runs and four walks in that A&M outing. If you want a projectable LHP who can develop into a useful rotation piece, the fit is intriguing.
