Javier Carbonell is a long-tenured Arkansas State interior defender with SEC-sized build and veteran value
Carbonell is a 6-foot-2, 285-pound Arkansas State defensive lineman who joined the program as a 2015 signee and has been around long enough to bring real experience and trench savvy. In his reported career stats through 2017, he logged 18 tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks, which suggests a role built more on run-gap discipline and dependable depth than flashy production. The appeal is his size, familiarity with the system, and veteran presence; the question is whether you need a sturdy rotational DL who can hold his ground and keep the front honest.
