Yale’s Matt Townsend is a high-IQ forward who brings efficiency and versatility
Townsend stands out as a dependable Yale frontcourt piece: in his most recent listed season, he averaged 7.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 52.7% from the field, showing efficient scoring and solid all-around play.[6] His broader profile suggests a smart, team-first player with notable academic pedigree—he was a Rhodes Scholar at Yale—which fits a coach looking for composure, discipline, and low-drama reliability more than pure volume production.[7]
