Portland State’s Intense, Data-Driven CB with Elite Coverage Instincts
Evan Camarena, Portland State’s 6’0”, 185-lb junior cornerback from Salida, CA, stands out for his relentless intensity and elite field awareness—starting all 11 games in 2022 as the field CB with 29 tackles and 2 pass breakups, including a season-high 6 tackles and 1 breakup in one game. Unlike many peers, Camarena combines physical toughness with a data-driven mindset, often referencing coverage stats and opponent tendencies to sharpen his play. He’s known for his high-pressure personality, never backing down from top receivers, and has no reported injury history, making him a durable, battle-tested fit for any team seeking a CB who brings both grit and strategic precision. If you need a CB who reads the game like a coach and plays like a warrior, Camarena is your guy.
